Correspondence between Professor Michael Chisholm and Anne Hamblin (the daughter of R.F. Peel) concerning a quern and grinder collected during the 1938 Egypt Exploration Society and Royal Geographical Society expedition to Gilf Kebir. Correspondence also between Michael Chisholm and numerous experts who offered interpretations and advice on the quern and grinder (now 2024.28.1-2). Chisholm compiled his research into a short document titled 'Saharan quern and grinder' in 2016 (in this archive). Also a printed copy of Bagnold et al. 'An Expedition to the Gilf Kebir and 'Uweinat. 1938.' and 'Cambridge and Sheffield Sahara Expedition report'. Palaeolithic. Neolithic.
