Description
A Quran in a leather satchel-style bag, with black linear decoration on the red leather bag flap [.1]. The bag has a long cloth strap with various objects attached to it, including charms of Koranic verses in flat, rectangular leather cases, one with a copper alloy loop attached. There are also several large leather rings, and a folding pocket knife enclosed within a leather case. There is also a wide, flat leather ring [.2] that is not attached to the rest of the object; it may be a bracelet or armband.

Catalogue card description for 1939.488 A-C: 'Three sets of charms in leather containers:
A) various charms in leather cases, strung on a strip of cloth, together with a Koran in a case;
B) charms as above, with 2 iron bracelets, a few white beads and a pocket knife in leather case.
C) 3 small round leather-cased charms, 2 with iron rings attached: for virility. Attached to blue cord'.
